Quick answer

This reader decodes a QR code in your browser. Switch to Camera to scan live, or Upload to drop a PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, or BMP. The payload appears as text you can copy or open if it is a URL. Decoding stays on your device.

What this reader does

The tool finds the QR grid in a camera frame or still image, corrects perspective, and prints the payload. Typical results are https links, short notes, Wi-Fi hints, or vCard text. It is a reader only. It does not generate QR codes (use the QR generator for that).

How to decode a code here

  1. Choose Upload or Camera at the top of the tool.
  2. Upload: drop a clear photo of the square. Camera: allow the webcam or phone camera and hold the code in the frame.
  3. Wait for the decoded string. Copy it, or open it when the payload is a URL.
  4. Use Reset to scan another code.

Camera vs upload

Camera is fastest for a code on a screen, poster, or package. Upload is better for a screenshot, email attachment, or a slightly blurry photo you can crop first. Use a square-on shot with contrast. Very small or damaged codes may fail; try a closer photo.

Privacy

Decode runs in this tab. The image is not uploaded to Evoke AI for reading. After you leave the page, nothing is kept on our servers. Camera access stops when you reset or leave.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. This page reads codes in the browser with camera scan or an image upload. No store app is required.

No. Decoding is done locally. We do not need the image on a server to read the code.

PNG, JPG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, and BMP work. Use the sharpest crop you have of the square itself.

Move closer, improve lighting, and fill the frame with the QR. Damaged or stylized codes may not decode. Try a different photo.
